Bad Kitty is a robot built by Team Think Tank for Season 2 of ABC's BattleBots reboot. Its design was based on their previous entrant for the 2009 BattleBots competition, VD6.0, but with a cat theme, which included reshaping the weapon hood to look like a cat's head. 95% of the robot was completely different, though the disc of VD6.0 was used. Other changes from VD6.0 include two prongs on either side of the robot to aid its ability to drive inverted, and a small nuisance bot similar to Shaman named Little Kitty. Despite previous experience and a potent weapon, Bad Kitty lost in the qualifying rounds to Black Ice.
Robot History[]
Bad Kitty was one of twelve robots which was selected to compete in the preliminary qualifier round to decide the final four places in the main bracket. It was drawn up against fellow veterans Skorpios and complete newcomer Black Ice. Skorpios got stuck underneath the screws almost immediately, leaving the match up to Bad Kitty and Black Ice. Unfortunately, Bad Kitty was unable to do much to the low front end of Black Ice, and eventually its drive motors burnt out, knocking the robot out of the tournament. Bad Kitty did have a better wedge which it could have used for this match, but in the scramble to get it ready for the qualifiers did not have time to attach it.
Bad Kitty wasn't finished yet as it participated in a small rumble with OverDrive and The Ringmaster. Bad Kitty dove out and battled with OverDrive before being flipped and when it tried to get away, The Ringmaster came in and damaged Bad kitty's right wheel, leaving Bad Kitty unable to move. Bad Kitty was counted out and eliminated from the rumble.
