Bullfrog, sometimes known as BullFrog, is an invertible heavyweight robot from The Netherlands, armed with a rear-hinged flipper. Bullfrog was built by Team RCC, who had previously entered Dutch Robot Wars with RCC and Blackdevil Warzone. The robot can run inverted, although needs to self-right in order to use its flipper, much like Raging Knightmare and Thermidor 2. It was built at a cost of £2,000.
Robot History[]
Bullfrog was originally built in 2008 as Bullfrog Breed by Harwich based roboteer Tony Fowler for the live events. But it was built in a way so it couldn't run inverted like it can now, it fought in one event in 2009 where according to the team lasted 15 seconds in a battle against Thor. For the 2011 UK Championships hosted at the O2 in London, it was built via e-mail by some Dutch and Belgian teams but it fell in the group stages against Tilly XP, Disc-Truction! & Tilly 2 Evo. Soon after, Fowler retired from robot events and sold the now renamed Bullfrog onto Team RCC who fight with it at the live events across Europe and the UK.
Bullfrog appeared in the first modern Robot Wars live event at Portsmouth in March 2013, where it face TR2, The Steel Avenger & Weird mAlice in the heats and lost. Bullfrog has appeared quite irregularly since, due to the team being located in The Netherlands.
It then made an appearance at the Robot Wars Live Event at Portsmouth in 2016 where despite having a jammed flipper, managed to win its first fight against Gabriel & Luzifer. Next it fought in a battle against Behemoth & Ripper, it did well managing to get a few flips on the other two opponents until it was thrown out the arena by Ripper. It did manage to win its next battle despite losing power to its weapon near the end of the fight against Gabriel and Luzifer. In its next battle it fought Behemoth, Cherub & Rattler, Bullfrog managed to flip Cherub out the arena, immobilise Behemoth and Rattler had lost drive on won wheel meaning Bullfrog won the fight.
