Axios was a box wedge shaped robot that competed in Series 3 of Robot Wars. It had four-wheel drive, skid-steer system and had a long wedge "tongue" and a drill lance on top (which Jonathan Pearce called a missile launcher). In its first fight it was defeated by reigning champion Panic Attack. Incidentally, the team's previous robot, Ron, was in Panic Attack's heat in Series 2 as well.
The word 'Axios' is Greek for 'a truly worthy and deserving person'.
Robot History[]
The only match for Axios had a very fast start, with Panic Attack pushing Axios into Dead Metal, but Axios managed to escape. Axios then trapped Panic Attack twice with its long lance, trying to push Panic Attack into Dead Metal's CPZ instead. The robots drove around each other until Panic Attack eventually lifted Axios up and flipped it over with its forks. Panic Attack then proceeded to attack Matilda, and managed to flip her, also making her lose her shell. Meanwhile, Axios was sliced by Dead Metal and eliminated from the competition.
