SPS #1 in its original livery
SPS #1 was a Lightweight robot that contested the 1995 US Robot Wars. It was a dome-shaped robot with a spiked ramming blade and anti-roll bars on both sides of the weapon. It lost in the first round to eventual Champion Test Toaster 1 and later competed in a Lightweight Melee in which it was painted red. SPS' creator J.D. Streett also competed in the Featherwight Division with flying robot SPS #2 which was slightly more successful and won the Strangest Robot Award.
